Arad, a Professor of Corporate Law and Finance at Brunel University of London, who is also the university's Associate Pro Vice-Chancellor for Social Mobility, is the only board member from a higher education institution. The forum was established in September 2024 to bring together leaders from different sectors and businesses, who have a shared commitment to addressing social mobility. Arad sits on the Tech Future Taskforce (Sutton Trust) working to improve access for individuals from low socioeconomic backgrounds (open doors to networks, role models, and insight into tech careers). Arad is a member of the Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) Scoping Forum at the Financial Markets Law Committee (FMLC) Bank of England. Between July 2016 to June 2021, he acted as a Member of the FMLC's Advisory Group at the Bank of England on Brexit. In April 2023 Arad was appointed as a Community Health Partner by Imperial College London to help improve the health of North West London. In October 2023 he joined the Multiple Long-Term Conditions Theme Management Committee of Imperial's Biomedical Research Centre, ensuring public involvement, engagement and participation in research is considered . He is currently involved in a joint-research investigating patient-derived quality of care indicators for those living with multiple long-term conditions. In May 2023 he was appointed to the newly established British Heart Foundation (BHF) Lived Experience Advisory Forum (LEAF). In the summer of 2024 he was asked to take part in an urgent campaign including a campaign video and a launch in Westminster in December 2024. In it, the BHF outlines the need for a dedicated Heart Disease Action Plan that commits to bold action.
