Growing and Scaling in West Yorkshire: Investing in Success

As West Yorkshire’s Strategic Lead for Health Tech and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), I work at the intersection of policy, innovation, and economic growth. My career spans both public and private sectors, enabling me to bring together business leaders, government partners, and industry influencers to accelerate the region’s tech maturity and global competitiveness. I lead a team of policy and business engagement managers focused on attracting UK and international companies to establish or scale their operations in West Yorkshire. Through strategic ecosystem building and proactive investor engagement, I work to strengthen our regional clusters and drive long-term economic impact.

Dr Neville Young has a real interest and track record in supporting the delivery of high-quality research and innovation that improves patient outcomes and drives health system efficiencies. Neville is focussed on helping innovative businesses succeed and grow. He is a National Institute of Health Research i4i reviewer, a Board member of the NHS Innovation Accelerator and of Sheffield’s Olympic Legacy Park, Vice Chair of the NHSE funded Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) Cancer Programme and Chair of the National Pathology Imaging Collaborative steering committee. He also acts as an advisor to the Nova Scotia Health Innovation Hub in Canada. He created Health Innovation Yorkshire & Humber’s Propel@YH digital health accelerator programme. Now in its sixth year, the accelerator supports both UK-based and international businesses to succeed in the UK health market.

Sarah Glanville leads Strategic Partnerships at Leyton UK & Ireland. Her focus is on connecting partner networks with Leyton’s expertise and helping businesses understand and access innovation funding, tax incentives, and compensation schemes. She works closely with organisations across the medtech, life sciences, and medical device sectors and has led Leyton’s partnership with Medilink North of England since its inception.
